"Muktinath to Jomsom"
A long hike down the Kaligandaki Valley. It is like a canyon and we were able to make it down to the river bed and walked it for some time. Brock was not doing well so he decided to take a jeep to Jomsom and try to book us in at a fancy hotel that advertizes a pool and hot tub etc. Jocko found it in the Lonely Planet guide book, "The Jomsom Mountain Resort" billed as the only 5 star on the Circuit. But they had no hot water yet still wanted $179.00 USD each, so we declined. Still no hot tub! They were actually quite rude to Brock on the phone and he felt like they didn't even want us to book in. We booked in at the Xanadu and had yak steaks for dinner which were excellent. We found a strange pool hall down an alley. We walked through a man's house and into his backyard, he then took us to barn, turned on the lights and inside were two pool tables, a bar and posters all over the walls. I found it funny that there was a huge Bob Marley flag hanging beside a Confederate flag along with Sex Pistols and Nirvana posters. We drank Everest beer and played 6 games of pool. Jocko who we have picked up as a travel companion and my roommate were partners and we kicked ass at the pool.
