"Tatopani to Pokhara"
Up early and down to the hot springs for a soak before breakfast. We have booked a private jeep to take us to Pokhara. The ride was amazing, up and down, switch back and zig zag roads through villages and by waterfalls, cliffs, mountains, animals, banana and fruit trees of all types. Watching people from the back of the jeep who are working just to survive. Women on the roadside with hammers making gravel from stones, farmers slaughtering and skinning animals. Full scale harvests of rice, cut and piled on the field in neat rows then piled in stacks, thrashed on the ground, sorted on reed or wicker type mats, put in baskets or milled and put in large sacks. All types of gardens with drying peppers and fruits in the sun. I rode in the back of the open truck and loved seeing this strange amazing and beautiful country.
We got to Pokhara and found a hotel (Hotel Nirvana) that is ok, yes just ok but it gives us a base to get the rest of our trip sorted. We had lunch/dinner at the Moondance on the upper deck and people watched. We saw the Australians so they came up for a beer. Jocko is not well now so we stopped at a shop to get him some drugs. I got progressively worse as he got better and I started to puke my guts out again. Jocko went out in the night to get me a bottle of water from a street shop.
