"Besi sahar to Bahundanda"
Slept better but woke up early to the sounds of roosters all over the village. Breakfast and more Nepali tea...I love this stuff. Started the hike by turning right at the end of the village and we are hit immediately with great views. Brock is suffering bad, much slower than Alan and I but that's ok, we are not racing and it only gets worse from here. I am writing this just outside Ngandi at a small trail side restaurant. The owner dragged us in and made us vegetable momos which we had with a coke. It took a long time for lunch but it was pretty good and made fresh. They also offered us "pot" to smoke but we all declined. I would have accepted but I have already decided not to indulge as I want my lungs as good as they can be for the ascent. Brock got worse as the day went on and the hike got harder. Alan and I took turns carrying his gear but it wiped us out very soon. Some local guys jumped in and carried it for the last kilometer or so. This was an awesome day, we made it to Bahundanda and got a room at the top of the mountain at the "Superb View" for about $2.00 each. A quart of beer was about $3.00. This place is awesome, rooms are basic but what a fabulous view! I had vegetable egg thukpa with a beer and a pot of Nepali tea. We are talking about hiring a porter for Brock, we talked to a cool guy who just got back from Iraq working for the US forces.
